Treatments

Microcurrent:

You will relax and enjoy a 30-60 minute facial massage! Your Esthetician will cover the entire surface of the face from the forehead to your neck, focusing on the areas that need the most attention.

What to expect after the session:
"Results are the eyes will be lifted, the forehead gets tighter, and you'll see more of an 'awakened' look,". "It also stimulates collagen, so you'll have a fuller look as well. Collagen is the main protein the body has to build muscle. As we age, we lose collagen." Microcurrent has been shown to encourage the production of ATP (Adenosine triphosphate), which leads to the creation of structural proteins like elastin and collagen.

Recommended protocols:

For maximum results, individuals may need 1-2 treatments weekly for up to 6 sessions. Once desired results are achieved, 1-2 sessions monthly would be recommended to maintain results.

Not Recommended:

"People with heart issues, like if they have a pace maker, are not advised to get a microcurrent facial because it stimulates the blood," also not recommending microcurrent facials for those with severe acne, "If it's a pimple here or there we can do it. If it's aggravated, I would not recommend it. There's a lot of inflammation going on, so we don't really want to stimulate that." Pregnant women in their first trimester are also cautioned against doing it.

If you've had fillers or Botox, you should wait two weeks for it to settle before getting a facial. "We don't want to alter their results". After that period, however, "[botox and fillers] actually work better when you get microcurrent, because it'll make your procedure last longer.

Series of 5 is recommended $550

One session = 1hr - $120

Microdermabrasion:

Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that exfoliates the skin's surface layer to make it appear younger. A specialist uses a wand to gently sand the skin with fine crystals or an abrasive instrument, removing the top layer of skin. The procedure is usually painless, but some say it feels like a cat's tongue or a gritty facial massage

Microdermabrasion is considered a safe procedure for most skin types and skin tones. People might choose to get the procedure if they have skin concerns, such as:

  • fine lines and wrinkles

  • hyperpigmentation, age spots and brown spots

  • enlarged pores and blackheads

  • acne and acne scars

  • stretch marks

  • dull-looking skin complexion

  • uneven skin tone and texture

  • melasma

  • sun damage

Before the session:

Avoid overexposure to sunlight for 72 hours before the treatment. If you are out between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., make sure to use sunscreen with a sun protection factor of at least 35. If you have lighter skin, you may also need protection from UVA and UVB rays. It would be best if you also avoided tanning during this time.

Do not take anti-acne medications such as salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide for two days before Microdermabrasion treatment. Avoid waxing and it would help if you also avoided any peeling treatments containing active enzymes or glycolic acid.

Do not use any topical product containing tretinoin such as Retin-A for at least 48 hours before the treatment session.

It is strongly recommended that men do not shave on the day of having Microdermabrasiontherapy. However, if you feel the need to shave, make sure to do it at least three to four hours before the treatment.

Recommended protocols:

  • Microdermabrasion treatments are typically spaced 2–4 weeks apart to allow the skin to heal and regenerate, which can maximize the benefits of each session.

Not Recommended:
  • People who are being treated for acne with drugs such as Rakuten (isotretinoin), Retinol, and Tetracycline. Because these drugs increase skin sensitivity

  • People with eczema, viral illnesses such as HIV and hepatitis, or people with blood clotting problems

  • Pregnant and lactating women

  • People who have used waxed should not do Microdermabrasion facial for up to two days

Guasha:

Gua sha (pronouced "gwa-shah") is an East Asian healing technique. A trained professional uses a small, smooth-edged tool to firmly stroke your skin in one direction

Gua sha aims to move energy, known as qi or chi, around the body. The treatment involves using a tool to rub the skin in long strokes, applying enough pressure to create minor bruising. Gua sha may help to break down scar tissue and connective tissue, improving movement in the joints.

Facial gua sha is known to stimulate circulation, produce collagen, decrease puffiness and inflammation, tighten skin, brighten complexion, release tension and shape facial muscles. This is done through the promotion of blood circulation and lymphatic movement.

What to expect after the session:

Gua sha may be able to help with issues such as:

  • Tight muscles

  • Swelling

  • Anxiety

  • Sinus pressure

  • Fatigue

Recommended protocols:

While once a week is recommended for gua sha, the frequency of use will depend on your skin type and your skin's tolerance for the method.

Not Recommended:

Gua sha should not be applied to damaged skin, such as areas with sunburn, rashes, bruises, cuts, pimples, or other growths. It's also not suitable for people with skin inflammation, rosacea, eczema, or severe acne breakouts.
